2022 Jesus Loves the Little Children Outreach is Underway

We’re in the middle of our Jesus Loves the Little Children Outreach. I don’t know yet if this will be an annual outreach, but this is our second year to do this.

So what is our Jesus Loves the Little Children Outreach?

At the end of October, we hosted our Third Annual Drive-through Trunk Or Treat. It was great to meet the carloads of families that stopped by. Numbers were down from the first two years, but we gave out a lot of candy and goodies.

This year, we sent $1500 to Paul Byars, our missionary in Manilla, Philippines this year. Rather than collecting gifts for children Paul ministers to, we send money so Paul can purchase gifts in the Philippines. This is a great stewardship of God’s money that avoids expensive shipping costs.

This Wednesday, we are taking seventy-four stuffed Shoe Boxes to our local Operation Christmas Child collection site. Our members purchased personal items, school supplies, and toys and worked together to pack the Shoe Boxes. Members and guests prayed over the boxes at the end of this morning’s worship service.

Finally, we have been and will continue collecting toys to give to a local ministry to distribute to children in our local area.

(Aside from our children’s outreach, this morning we began collecting donations for our annual Lottie Moon Christmas Offering through the Southern Baptist International Mission Board. All of the funds collected for this annual Offering will go straight to our missionaries around the world. We set a goal of $1000.
